Took a breather in Bangkok.

June 11, 2016

Just last week, I decided to take a short break in Bangkok. It was meant to be a work trip initially but I decided to extend an extra night and kept my work hours short so I could take a real breather, and I’m glad I did. The wonders of solitude in a foreign land!

One of my favourite parts of travelling is actually the accommodation. I love scrolling through hotels before my trip and needless to say, I love staying in them. I’m rather particular about my hotels/apartments so I don’t mind paying a bit more if it’s good. Decided to go with Hotel Indigo @ Wireless Road and it was defo a good choice. Cosy and chic room, sufficient facilities and good service!

Some of my travel skincare essentials.

My holy grail of an All-day mask which acts as a day moisturiser along with toner mist and overnight mask from Allies of skin, Bioderma make up remover for sensitive skin, Shiseido brightening cleansing foam and serum, Lancome Genifique youth activating eye concentrate.

Spent the first evening at the gym.

Organika Cafe is a subsidiary of their spa house and I have to say it’s so well done! The moment I stepped in, I felt like Alice in the Wonderland. The ambience is just so refreshing and welcoming, and they serve organic food too! I really liked the Tuna salad with lavender flakesĀ and passion fruit that I ordered.DSC09102 DSC09104 DSC09113Tea time at Chikalicious which is a dessert bar at Central Embassy. Their doissant (a hybrid of donut and croissant) with vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate drizzle is really really good though sinful. I finished it without stopping for one second šŸ˜€

To be honest, I didn’t do much besides chilling/zenning, shopping, eating and roaming around. And I guess that was exactly what I needed ; to be carefree. I’m really glad I took this trip to be alone even tho it was short, to take my mind off things and re-energise my mind to adjust my perspectives and priorities. A lot have been going on for me for the past few months and honestly, it wasn’t easy at all. It was toxic and I had enough of feeling so much negativity in my life and my head. Sometimes, life could hit rock bottom but we gotta remember that the only way you can go when you’re down is up. And this short solo trip made me see that, the world is HUGE and your problems are only as big as you see it. Love yourself a little more, cos no one is gonna do that better than you. (:

If you’re feeling down, you might wanna consider doing a solo trip also. It doesn’t have to be far or extravagant. You’ll be surprised at what you can reap from it!
